MORZINE

Morzine is a traditional Alpine market town, nestled in the Alps of the Haute-Savoie, built along the banks of the river Dranse. Many of its buildings are retained from its agricultural and mining heritage, which remains to this day. The town is surrounded by undulating Summer pastures and spectacular higher mountains which provide jaw-dropping views of Mont Blanc, the Dent du Midi and Lake Geneva as well as a vast playground for Winter activities.

Morzine is renowned as a family friendly resort throughout the year with a huge number of activities both during the summer and winter months. The town's square also provides regular entertainment both both children and adults alike. But it also has a

Morzine is just over an hour's drive from Geneva Airport and is one of the easiest ski resorts of the Alps to access. It has a thriving winter ski season and a lively après scene with plenty of traditional Alpine shops and bars for those who enjoy off-slope activity. Once the snow has melted this picturesque Alpine town becomes a bustling Summer destination for all ages.

In the Summer, Morzine is transformed into an outdoor playground to suit both adrenaline junkies and those looking to enjoy the quieter Alpine benefits of fresh air and amazing scenery. From Mountain Biking to swimming, hiking to paragliding, zip wires, white water rafting, Summer luge, tennis, bike parks, horse riding, river walks, great restaurants, the options are truly endless.

The Multi Pass Portes du Soleil scheme costs just 2 Euros per day and allows access to the swimming facilities, tennis courts and ski lifts for hiking as well as discounts for many other activities meaning spending time in Morzine in the summer is not just incredibly varied but also great value as well. The Multi Pass scheme is only open to guests staying at participating accommodations providers and we are delighted to confirm that Chalet La Boite a Musique is one of those providers!

Morzine is ideally positioned to take advantage of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area in which it sits. Two telecabines leave the town in opposite directions, one towards the charming and more gentle slopes of Pleney, Les Gets and beyond; the other to the higher slopes of Avoriaz, Chatel and the Swiss villages on the same domain.

In total, the Portes du Soleil offers over 600km of pistes, connecting 12 different resorts across France and Switzerland. The vast ski area ranges from the quiet nursery slopes of Morzine to the infamous ‘Wall’ between Avoriaz and Les Crossets. The Portes du Soleil really does cater for all abilities.

Outside of skiing there are many winter activities available such as tobogganing, ice skating, snow shoeing as well as local tours of the village heritage sites. The town also has an exceptional swimming pool complex with three indoor and three outdoor (Summer only) pools for everyone to enjoy.
